June 2017 Overview of a successful Potter Cup The 2017 Potter Cup saw the first edition of a Ladies event alongside the longstanding Men’s event, which celebrated its 45th edition. And what a successful long-weekend it was! Overall 12 teams competed comprising of; 8 men’s teams including a Spanish B Team, the RC Polo team, and 4 women’s teams. Notably it was a weekend of outstanding level of play from both the men’s and ladies competitors and most importantly it showcased the sportsmanship and true IC spirit. As always, the social side of the weekend was thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed by all the players. Particular recognition must go to Berta Tintore and her family, the IC of Spain and the RC Polo Club who did a fantastic job of organising and hosting such an excellent event. The IC of GB ladies expressed their gratitude in the form of a poem, which can be seen below. For a full round-up of competing IC nations and results, please click here. Looking ahead to next year, we hope that both the Men’s and Ladies Potter Cup can build on this successful edition as additional ICs have already expressed their interest in participating in next year’s event.
