IC of GB Member, Andy Murray, wins second Wimbledon Title

After 2 hours and 48 minutes, Andy Murray overcame Canadian Milos Raonic, 6-4 7-6 7-6 to claim his second Wimbledon Title. It was his sixth straight sets win of the tournament, which saw him drop only two sets en route to the title, against Frenchman Jo-Wilfred Tsonga in their quarterfinal encounter.

Murray, an IC of GB Member, has enjoyed a successful 2016, appearing in all three Grand Slam finals. But it was on Centre Court, in front of a home crowd, where he was able to build on his form and go one step further to be crowned Wimbledon Champion. Now with three Grand Slam Titles, and two of them being Wimbledon titles in the last three years, Andy Murray is certainly shaping up to be one of Britain’s best ever sportsmen.
